Discouragement

A couple weeks ago we received our dossier back from the courier and it was in shambles - totally broke my heart! I had spent nearly 3 months putting all of that stuff together and getting it organized. We needed it back, however, because there were a few documents that are no longer required...and about 7 new docs that needed to be added to it. I have been working on "re-collating" everything and getting new translations, making new copies, etc. I know the courts are still closed - but I want this part of the process to be over with! Our baby is waiting for us and as soon as the courts open, I want to be able to travel!! (of course after the mandatory 30 day waiting)

Today I got a very discouraging email from Adoption Alliance. Apparently, the translation of each dossier doc now has to be signed by the translator, and her signature notarized and then the translation attached to the back of each corresponding English doc BEFORE State certification. So what happens to the documents that have already been to the U.S. Dept of State??? Or the ones that I JUST re-did and have already been State Certified??? I burst into tears when I read the email. Ryan told me to relax and find out all the details. I have yet to get a reply email.

We have still not received our I-171H...and we had our fingerprints done in April!!! Our Social Worker said that she has tried contacting them several times with no response. At this point, she said she would suggest that we contact our state representative or congressman's office and have them check into it. This has been the way it's been handled lately with families needing their I-171H. I think that this is one of the new requirements for the embassy and it has to accompany the rest of your dossier documents. Looks like I'll have time to wait now!!

Baby Arsin, hold on tight!!! Mom and dad will do whatever we have to do to make sure this stuff gets done and we can get you home as soon as possible!!!!!
