On Tuesday I went in for Acupunture. He also did some nueralink treatment on me as well. Pretty cool actually. I'm not a big fan of needles to the actual acupuncture wasn't as cool. The last needle that went in went right through my piriformus. It hurt like hell and most of my leg went numb! Afterwards he said that I would probably be tender because that muscle was tight to begin with, but it was necessary to have that needle there. It was interesting to learn about the several causes/reasons for why things happen. I think that after my marathon I may continue with acupuncture/neuralink treatment...I'll just steer clear of any needles in my piriformus for a while!
Yesterday I went back to the ortho to get a cortisone shot. I made sure to make my appointment at a time when Ryan was available to hold my hand!! I am such a baby and those cortisone needles are HUGE! Now my booty really hurts :( I suppose it's my hip actually, but that whole side/back of my upper leg/butt hurts! Today I was home sick...not exactly sure what's wrong or what's going on, maybe I just needed a day to stay home and rest - which is exactly what I've done ALL DAY!
I got a new physical therapist report today on baby Arsin. It isn't like that last form in the least bit. It actually just states all of the dates that they have given him Ultraviolet Irradiation. What the hell is ultraviolet irradiation??? I have an email into my coordinator. I want to know what the heck is going on. My IAP said that it is sometimes used to help treat rickets, but it can also be used to make sure the babies are getting Vitamin D. If he needs Vitamin D - I will send him some!
Still no word on any movement. Our dossier is in Kyrgyzstan, and our coordinator is expecting it to go to the committee next week. I wonder...does this have a direct corillation to when we'll travel??

Yiks, all those needles! So glad you at lesat got something from the PT working with Arsin. Hugs, Laura
Bless your heart for all the shots and booty pains!!!
I hope that all goes quickly so Arsin can get home and you can personally see what he needs and what is being done...ultraviolet irradation (or whatever it is) sounded vaguely familiar to me with my neice's jaundice when she was little...but I don't remember for sure..
Hoping you feel better!
Props to you for standing up to those big, bad needles - hope the booty is on the mend soon! Most institutionalized kiddos have rickets or some other vitamin deficiencies going on. Vit D is made inside our bodies as a result of UV exposure. Most people in our area of the country will have low levels during the winter because face it - who likes to sunbathe in -20 degrees?! I know it's hard and scary, but try not to worry too much and remember to take into consideration the cultural differences and possible translation issues with those reports. Hang in there!
That is the oddest thing I've heard up. Please update your blog when you hear what they were giving little Arsin. BTW, I just read your post about the marathon. You are MY HERO!!! I would have fallen out around .2 miles. To press on through the pain you had is incredible.
