Nooruz

Today we went to the town square to watch the Nooruz celebration. Nooruz is the Kygyz New Year and also when they celebrate Spring Equinox. It was really a spectacular sight!!! The President was there, and there were snipers on the roof tops! Lots of dancing and singing, food cooked along the walk in the park, carnival toys and even some rides! There was an arm wrestling ring, gymnastics stage, kids doing relay races and more! The festival went on for blocks and went most of the morning into early afternoon.

What a cool experience. Well except for the snipers. That sounds a bit unnerving. I guess since the snipers were there you did not get the chance to walk up to the president and ask him to sign 65 sheets of paper?
